SolarCity Gainesville, Inc., is a not for profit corporation. The purposes of the corporation are exclusively charitable, scientific and educational and consist of the following:

1. To advance Gainesville, Florida, to become a world leader in the use of solar and renewable energy;
2. To promote the use of solar and renewable energy to the residents and businesses of Gainesville, Alachua County and the State of Florida;
3. To provide a forum through which individuals can discuss the use of solar and renewable energy, share ideas, and develop joint initiatives, supported by up-to-date information and technical research;
4. To educate people of all ages in the use, merits and diversified application of solar and renewable energy by providing information and demonstrations to individuals, businesses, schools and community groups;
5. To encourage and advance, through cooperative effort of participants in the solar industry of Gainesville, Alachua County and the State of Florida, the economic application and public understanding of solar and renewable energy;
6. To provide cooperation and liaison with other persons, organizations and institutions having an interest in the utilization of solar and renewable energy in a constructive and beneficial manner;
7. To speak with a strong collective voice to municipal, state and federal governments and other agencies on issues concerning the development of clean, renewable, efficient energy in Florida, and the reduction of Florida's greenhouse gas emissions;
8. To collaborate with charitable and faith-based organizations to train individuals in solar and renewable energy and assist low income families in financing solar and renewable energy solutions for their homes;
9. To collaborate with national and international organizations and businesses to implement solar and renewable energy projects in developing countries.
